Bridal Shower!

My sister and mom pulled off the best bridal shower for me!

It wasn't a surprise, I don't think I could've handled that.  I knew it was going to be on August 28th in Dillsburg.  We left that morning from NYC and picked up 5 of my friends along the way and made our way to PA (a long journey thanks to terrible traffic on the BQE).  As we neared my parents' house, Nelson did not turn onto their road.  Instead we headed into town to the Historical Society's Maple Shade Barn.  This was my first time in the barn - it was perfect for the event, giving it a rustic feel.

It was great having so many of the ladies from my family & Nelson's family together in one room.  No detail was left unnoticed by the planning committee.  There were games and door prizes, childhood photos, memories to share, food/cake/punch, gifts, and get-to-know Katie facts (which proved how much of a goody two-shoes I am -- since when is being in high school Honor's Society an interesting fact?).

But the highlight:  the veil competition!  There were supplies paired with glue guns, and the 6 teams were instructed to make a veil in 10 minutes and 8 seconds.  Wow, the ladies really stepped up to the plate!  I had a rough time choosing a winner, but my cousin Kara used her modeling skills to sell me on her team's "Hippie Veil".

The Line-up!
Everyone had a wonderful time.  It was a great kick-off to the wedding excitement!
